After a 9 year struggle with infertility, my friends Ben & Kari Hickey are finally expecting!!
What they weren't expecting? To see FOUR babies on the ultrasound monitor! That's right... QUADS!
Through their shock, they quickly embraced their new journey. It has been a rough ride but the babies are doing wonderfully. Kari is due in November just like me!
Unfortunately, just days before they are set to find out the genders of their little blessings they received terrible news. Ben, who has not been feeling well for a while, finally saw a doctor. This past Saturday (May 23rd) he was officially diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He has cancer in the lymph nodes, lungs, liver and spleen. He has already started chemotherapy and has done well so far.
A fellow message board member started a blog for those who would like to follow Ben and Kari's story. The first post goes into much more detail. If you would like, you can also help financially by making a donation on the blog. Please help me spread the word!
